Who's Who on Savile Row

I was prowling the Net for information on the much talked about tailors in Savile Row , London. Well, I am impressed because there are tailors that still insist on doing things the traditional way and I like that. Maybe its the characteristic of a Cancerian - who likes most things nostalgic or things with strong links to heritage. And one such tailor is Anderson & Sheppard.

In Anderson & Sheppard, they do not produce RTW. Only bespoke tailoring for their clients and that's a hell lot of work. Here's the link to 2 interesting videos - how they work and how they go about introducing wool and the mills they originate from to the consumers (they actually close of a road and brought in sheeps) to bridge the gap btw whats offered in the store and its source. It answers key questions by consumers on the what, where and who. An intelligent way, I thought, to educate consumer and garner more customer loyalty.

Enjoy!!

Not your fair weather friend!

Never knew there is such a great variety of umbrella for gentlemen!

Watch next video on James Smith & Sons (London) from Finch Quarterly and you will know what I mean.
.

www.james-smith.co.uk/acatalog/City_Classic.html

I am sure most Singapore men wouldn't bother about spending on a good umbrella not to mention one that completes the classic look.

I remember buying my most expensive umbrella (folding) in my entire life from an old established brand/store known as Liu Fu Ji from Taipei at SGD$35. I owned it for over a year now and its still serving me well.

The great thing about this umbrella is that it doesn't flip upwards, especially during heavy rain. THis usually happens when you but cheap umbrellas.

So invest in a good umbrella. A plain black, brown, checkered should fit nicely in your briefcase. Carry it in style and look whos "singing in the rain"!

New kid in town

I made a trip down to the new Marina Bay Sands this afternoon. No. Not to try have a hand on the jackpot. Not to mention I never had Lady Luck with me!

I was there to check out a new shop called Uomo Colleztion (hope I got the spellng right!) that is carrying RTW Artioli shoes. Its interesting to see good quality shoes on Singapore shores. According to URBAN (Straits Times), this is a Moscow-based company.

Adjoining Uomo is another shop under the same management - Stefano Ricci. Another italian shoe label. But sad to say the range of mens shoes for both brands is rather limited. But I am pretty sure we will see more in future.

Besides shoes, both store carry suits (bespoke also available), accessories to fragrance.

So if you plan to visit Marina Bay Sands, be it for the casino or the sampan ride, check these stores out!

That's all for today. Time to hit the sack. Ciao!!
